The letter of authority
What is a letter of authority?
A signed form that lets MWC Advisory Partners request your energy data and pricing from retailers and networks, and discuss your accounts with them, on your behalf.
Does it lock me in?
No. It doesn't let MWC sign, change or end any energy contract for you, and you can give it to more than one party.
How long does it last?
Three years, or the term of any contract you sign through MWC if that's longer.
Can I withdraw it?
Yes. Tell us in writing at any time.
Can I sign it online?
Yes, in most cases. Upload a recent bill and sign on screen, from your phone or computer. If a retailer needs a different format, we'll send it. Start your free bill review.
Switching retailers
Will my supply be interrupted if I switch?
No. Your electricity and gas still come through the same poles, wires and pipes. Only the company that bills you changes.
Who handles the switch?
The new retailer arranges the transfer once you sign their contract.
Costs and commission
Is the bill review free?
Yes.
How does MWC get paid?
Either a commission paid by the retailer and included in its price, or a fixed fee agreed with you. Either way, it's disclosed in writing before you commit. How we get paid.
Do I see the commission before I sign?
Yes. You accept the commission basis on the letter of authority, and the exact amount is confirmed in writing before you commit to a contract.
Commercial advisory
Who is it for?
Family-owned SMEs, including wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers, ready to win new customers or enter new markets.
Is it only for energy businesses?
No. The advisory work isn't limited to energy.
How does an engagement start?
With a 20-minute call. If there's a fit, we agree the scope in writing before any work starts. Get in touch.
